Project: IT Assessment & T24 Implementation Review

 

Challenge
Keystone Bank (formerly Bank PHB) made deliberate investments in the procurement and deployment of Temenos T24 Core banking solution to deliver innovative services to its customers. However, after the T24 implementation, the bank was yet to realize the full value of its huge investment as the solution was fraught with issues and challenges. To address the operational challenges that besieged the bank’s IT infrastructure and the critical performance issues on core banking application (CBA), the Bank sought independent expert assistance to investigate the root causes of the issues on CBA and also assess the bank’s IT capabilities.

 

Our Approach/ What Infoworks did
Infoworks conducted a detailed review of the T24 implementation exercise and a comprehensive assessment of the bank’s IT capabilities. The review was conducted using our standard tools and templates for analyzing software implementations.

 

The Result 
Infoworks identified gaps and challenges that were impacting the current state of IT in the Bank and the IT organization’s ability to support the Bank’s business objectives and growth. Strategic options for addressing the challenges with the T24 implementation were established. A roadmap which included quick wins, short to medium-term initiatives, and long-term efforts were developed and presented to the Bank’s management for consideration.
The client expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the assessment and subsequently endorsed the implementation roadmap of the various articulated remedial initiatives required to address the critical gaps identified in the review findings. The strategic options and recommendations formed a basis for the Bank’s decision to re-implement T24 application.

 

Project: IT Roadmap Implementation

 

Challenge
Following Keystone Bank Management and Board approval of the recommendations and proposed roadmap for implementation of the various initiatives, Infoworks was engaged to provide consulting assistance and drive the implementation of the roadmap initiatives.

 

Our Approach/ What Infoworks did
By applying best-practice project management principles and methodology, Infoworks supported the bank to execute and also manage the implementation of the approved IT and change initiatives.

 

The Result
The implementation of the quick-wins in the initiatives resulted to an enhanced system performance; reduced power related business disruptions, increased system availability, improved uptime of branch network connectivity and efficient banking operations which impacted positively on the client’s employee morale/productivity; and ultimately improved customer satisfaction.

 

Similarly, the re-implementation of the T24 application significantly improved the level of support T24 provided for the bank’s business operations. It also created the opportunity for the client’s staff to acquire T24 build skills.
